Gamepad not working; Graphics not working.

Cant use my gamepad (a 360 goldentec gamepad) at all, cant even try to configure it, tried using steam big picture, but no sucess.
In addition to that, Graphics are ♥♥♥♥♥♥, basically get a massive blue haze over everything all the time (honestly dont know how else to describe this particular issue)

The fog issue can be fixed by going into whatever drive you have the game installed on (probably C) and navigating to /steam/steamapps/common/Prince of Persia The Sands of Time.

From there, open up the file called "Hardware.ini". You'll want to change these values:

ForceVSFog=0
InvertFogRange=1

to this:

ForceVSFog=1
InvertFogRange=0

I don't think I can help with you controller issue, unfortunately.

^ There is the solution for the graphics.

For controller, just play with keyboard. I spent 2 hours trying to configure a controller and in the end I just gave in to M + K. It works fine.

So, I was having this same problem [fog of doom], but when I open up the 'common' file, Prince of Persia isn't listed. Any idea why that is?

change resolution in game for 800x600 and play that way work fine

Controller should work, only you have to configure it manually in the game options. Also it cannot be used to navigate the game menu, only for controlling actual gameplay. Even saving requires m+kb input.

Thanks. I was able to use the controller in game, although the in game instructions sometimes keep on referring to the keyboard controls for some reason.

Hi, I apologize for the massive necro, but I was wondering if you might remember how you managed to fix your gamepad controls? I'm trying to get mine working and just.... nothing. Nadda. I can't input them in the options. I can't get Pinnacle Game Profiler to work. I've used an Xinput thing. Just.... nothing. It won't recognize that my controller exists. Yet I know it does and have just tested my controller in 3 other games, works fine.

I'm just wondering what you did that maybe I can get some direction.

My Xbox 360 game controller works in game but you would still need to use your keyboard and mouse to navigate the menu in the beginning.

Just use the k/m initially to choose your options in the menu and then when you are in the game if your gamepad still doesn't work, click escape to go the menu, go to options and then control, choose gamepad and map your character movements on the gamepad by clicking the option on the menu and then making the appropriate input on your gamepad.
