>>> shields are already incredibly powerful
pair it with a guy with a shotgun and youve got an incredibly efficient room clearing duo (if all goes well, which usually it does with the shield pointing out where and the guy with the shotgun just point and clicking on you while widepeeking)
sure you could go "just shoot the guy with the gun then lolol"
take note of peeker's advantage
im aware zero hour is not like other competitive fps shooter games but peeker's advantage applies to all comp shooters and 9 out of 10 times if both of you have equal skill and similar reaction time you're gonna lose
holding an angle ALWAYS puts you at a disadvantage if they know where to expect you (which, they do by the way because of the guy with the shield)
my main problem is just that it looks pretty dumb as it is now. maybe if they have a smaller shield with a lower armor class that is bad against rifle calibre, and allow a pistol?
Well, unless you're a body builder, one-arming a shield isn't going to save you from high impact rounds. If you want realisim, you'd understand R6 Siege is as far from realistic as is possible without aliens or demons involved. It's not "realistic" for a 7'2 giant french man with an unfolding 200lb riot shield to also aim around that with a .357 magnum in tight quarters.
Also, it's a balance thing too. I get you wana cheese the game and not have to learn to watch your corners and stuff, but it also has to be balanced so that you aren't safe with it at all times, especially with how extremely strong the shield can be.
Overall, your argument for "More realism" then comparing it to Siege is just like.....you're either trolling or uneducated on what the word "realistic" means, because while neither game is fully realistic, Zero hour is miles ahead of Siege's sci-fi superhuman operators.
