Nope, runs perfectly fine at 1440p max settings. I did get some FPS slow down in the elemental fight though, but only at a specific moment and others reported the same, so figured it's the game =P.

I have attempted all sorts of fixes and it still refuses to run good. I can even turn all my settings down to the lowest and 50% resolution scale and it will still dip to 40 fps. I just gave up and capped my fps to 30. Squenix proves again to be incompetent at optimization. Wo Long and Nioh both ran way better than this trash heap. I only have a 1070 but it should be able to do a steady 60 fps for this game.

hmm it really sucks. i played on ps5 but i wanna play it on pc but its sucks

Haven't played it on PC, but like Wo Long, it's Team Ninja game that requires pretty solid machine to play, for the graphics there are. Engine is really not well optimised. Hell even on PS5 (where I play), I notice whenever there is a cutscene, the PS5 has slight trouble (they explained on reddit its due for example to insane hair geometry that tanks FPS and is extremely hard to render).

Tbh I'm happy to have gotten it on PS5 because I don't think my ageing gaming rig would play this.

Hi Yujiro,

Some players have reported being able to resolve a number of their performance issues with a software called Special-K. (referencing a Steam discussion of it being mentioned: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1358700/discussions/0/3826411948443815125/?ctp=2

Others with later generation processors noticed performance improvements adjusting their E-Core settings. Where I've read on the Wo Long forums (another Team Ninja developed game) that adjusting the E-Core settings improved the performance several of the players that had those processors.

And then one last fix from the guide, though I haven't read as much about players having to go that far for it yet: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2958643152

Special K helped me with input delay but the game cant keep a steady 60 fps. it always drops down to 40ish whenever a fight starts. Even dropping the settings down to the lowest possible still gives me the same framerates. I couldn't notice a difference with process lasso either

When I first started playing on my 4090 I was getting FPS drops on all max settings. I played around with it for a while and noticed it was certainly the shadows. Settings shadows to OFF fixed my FPS issues. It does seem that it is location dependent through. Now that I am further in the game, I tried enabling shadows again and it is working fine.

There are some temporary slow-downs after some fights, but no lags or stutters or anything else.

Well I just ordered a 4070 that will be here tomorrow. I'll be able to give an update if it was indeed my 1070 showing its age or not.

Likely not the card, but the processor in the regards of the katana engine.

The cpu is most likely the cause, cpu usage really only sits around 40% utilization for me with this game even during heavy loads. Also I don't think this game is the katana engine, It's the same one that nioh 1/2 used. Wo Long used the katana engine and it ran great for me on my ryzen 3700x.

after having played now (way too much) with the PC version
i got 0 technical issues; but i also capped the FPS at 60.
i9, 3070 (and 3080), 32, SDD/WIN SDD; everything maxed, 1440p and higher, no DLSS.
i didn't even see dips in the already mentioned elemental fight (at no point, even in the sidequest), where the console got some issues.
we also have the game running on an older system, sporting a 1080 and running 1440p on that system also never showed issues apart from the elemental fight.

the only "odd" thing is the closing process. especialy during longer play-sessions the game takes quite a moment to shut down when exiting via the ingame menu (screen turns black for nearly 10 secs.).

So when you do finishers it appears to be a particles deal. The finishers are sick and flashy but I think the particles can cause FPS issues occasionally. Turn down some graphics and that may help

ive tried everything^^ as i told you. ive tried special k and also put the game on the lowest settings and lovest resolution but still laggy. the funny thing is that it works on my laptop fine WTF.
