[ Minor Spoiler ] Are we rigged to not achieving perfect ending in the first playthrough ?

So i just completed this game and lost 2 kid. One is britz from suicide bombing and another is wappa because the game forced me ( scripted ) to in battle aginst Schvein

The end word hints that if I maybe raise affinity towards britz his death could be averted, but im wondering if there is another way to prevent using the soul cannon in battle against schvein ? It said that the taranis will show the way if i dont use any kid for the soul cannon, I dont though ?

No your not. You just need all 12 kids but you failed to keep Britz so your true ending was lost.

The only scripted soul cannon firing is in the tutorial, and that one doesn't count. I just beat the game on my first run with the perfect ending, and honestly it wasn't even hard. I had at least 10 of each healing item left. I didn't even know it was possible to not get Britz back, but I got him, and I didn't really have any super high relationships with any of the other kids, maybe level 2 or 3 tops on a couple of kids.

The main thing is to just take the dangerous route as much as possible, I didn't take it every single time, but about 80% of the time, and most of the game was pretty easy.

yeah same i actually dont have any problem with the difficulity, but i shelfed britz beause i dont see any use for him when boron can wipe all the normal fights

turns out britz become the gloomy weirdo that do school shooting ( only in this game suicide bomber ) if he doesnt get the bitchiess so you need to increase his link

I talked to britz many times and he had good relationship (2 or more) with several crew mates, and relation 5 with one of them. He still blew up despite talking to him regularly.

If I'm not a mad man I do believe you needed to max out 2 or 3 relationships with him. I maxed out Malt, Jin, and Sock for him.

Heh, it's good to know that it's still possible. As someone cursed with perfectionism, I keep chuckling about the pricing structure basically being "Pay us 50% more or a child dies!"

I also got the best ending in my first playthrough. You need to do ALL dangerous paths and use your AP well.

I kept britz while having relations at 2 with everyone except wappa who i got to 10 (wanted to spam scavenge hard) and that was enough at least.

Yep it is two with everyone for Brtiz minimum.

I've got Britz to live just by having him at 5 with Sheena and 2 with Malt, Kyle and Boron. It doesn't need to be everyone.
