Where have all the planets gone?
Since Megastructures came out, the number of planets has reduced by over 75%, maybe more. WIth the new update, i have just restarted 20 maps with various settings and not found one habitable planet in range. It is not even worth playing anymore.

It is frustrating and instead of spamming colony ships start out with probes and as your range expands you can then start building. This is more like some of the early forms where you had to be patient.

Making probes is not the issue when there is no planets to find.

FYI I am playing Gigantic maps on Godlike difficulty, and tried various combinations of sectors, extreme planets, habitable planets, star systems and players.

Today I loaded the More Gigantic Mod and similar issues.

Was a few patches ago they reduced the number planets around yellow stars from 4 to 2.

Just did another map, in a 50 move radius from home planet, there was 1 Class 2 and 1 Class 21. Am I the only one seeing this?

What map settings are you playing on?

Yeah... No good planets are ever close to me. It's always a very long trip if I find one. The Ai seems to get good planets close to them, or they just deal with it better. 'Good' starts aren't a thing anymore.

I got everything set to abundant and I noticed the same thing. Planets are less. A map editor would sure be nice. The player could fix that problem themselves

Nothing really has changed on planet counts in a very, very long time.

All I can say is that between the game I was playing yesterday and the 70+ maps I have loaded since the update, 75% of the planets have disappeared.

Is there a log file which shows what updates are done and when?

Got a fix: Use these in your settings. (when you first start game. Beside mods)
Star Cluster=Few
MaxSector Size=Huge
Player Starting Sector Size=Huge
Star Frequency=Abundant
Planet Frequency=Abundant
Habitable Planet Frequency=Abundant
Extreme Planet Frequency=Abundant
You may have you save, check map to get these results as the games are random. Took me 2 tries to get this result

This is average size of sectors and there are 5 of them

Let me peak at this one sec. As I said the yellow stars have less planets. But I thought that went live a while ago now.

Ok, 9/22 patch notes they reduced the number of habitable planets around yellow and purple stars. This was an insiders build. It went live around 9/27. There have also been a number of changes around the map generation mostly around the placement of sectors.

Ship Range was recently changed so not having another planet in range is definately a possibility. The minister of exploration and building starbases will be more important.

If your playing with mods try disabling them first.

Playing Large galaxy, Several sectors, Occasional habitability. I consider basically within 50 hexes something in range. Its about 2 - 3 systems away

#1 Generation
1 - precursor world
4 - core worlds
2 - colonies

#2 - Generation
6 - core worlds
3 - colonies
1 - extreme

#3 Generation - Ended up on map edge
4 - core worlds
2 - colonies
1 - extreme

#4 - Generation
5 - core worlds
8 - colonies
1 - extreme
1 precusor (53 hexes)

#5 - Generation
7 - cores
4 - colonies

I would say overall it looks similar to what I'm used to.

If you use the cheat fownc please share map settings and images of games you think it seems wrong. At least from what I'm used to it's about the same little lower because of less planets from yellow and purple stars.
