5 DLC in 4 months?

Game came out 4 months ago and already has $60 in DLC. That's more expensive than the base game. Something stinks here. Will be avoiding this game until there is a steep discount.

GalCiv4 released in 2020, originally as an Epic Exclusive. The first expansion Supernova was released 5 months ago at this time it was released on Steam. There are occasionally discounts, so if you wishlist the DLC Steam will send you an email when it's on sale.

Regarding the DLC, it's a season pass meaning not everything is currently available. Currently only Tales of Centauron, a story pack, and the sound track are available right now. The other items will be made throughout 2024.

A lot of info gets shared on Discord. Might be because it's much easier to share pictures there.

This could change and not official just some of the things shared on the discord. All of this could change:
doctrines system
new weapons like a vampire like weapon that drains shields
Individual battle logs for us stat nerds. You can look up a single ships contribution.
Ability to move citizens in an interface
Lots of UI additions.

Warlords is scheduled for April. We decided to do a pretty big update for 2.4 and pushed the date on Warlords out 1 month.

We post screenshots and such pretty frequently on Discord of what's coming in Warlords. :)

You cannot moan about this game and its content, damn - they're one of the best developers, they are always realising on-point patches, content and invested in this game. I will purchase every DLC to show support for worthy devs.

How are you paying for it a third? I only paid once to play it on steam. This update is a DLC which means its not part of the base game. They have been doing tons of free small updates here and there. I personally love games that get expanded through DLC. When I bought GC4 i saw they had 4 paid DLC's lined up and part of looking forward to it.

I bought GC4 on epic. When GC4 Supernova was released I bought it again. 2 times.

You didn't have to buy it again. Frogboy made it possible to transfer to steam for free following some instructions given in forums

You got a discount to go from the base game to the expansion. Yes.

If you have Supernova on Epic, you can transfer directly, no cost, to Supernova on Steam.
