The idea of auto-proposed designs is for them also to auto update
You can just ignore the ships in your build menu.
Than why not design your own custom ships as mentioned by zlAblik?
Starting game without ships does not make any sense. You can't build ships without resources. You can't mine resources without building a ship to construct facilities to mine resources. How do you propose to protect your core home world without military ships?
It is impossible to play this game without ships to jumpstart your race. You will not be able to advance your race or progress your game without using ships.
I don't think you fully understand how this game is played.
They don't want to have the chore of obsoleting all the the preset designs. This is a major annoyance for myself. You'll see me cleaning up my ship list constantly when I'm streaming. I have a request and a temp solution for this.
The request is an option that prevents the AI from updating presets when new ones becomes available so I can design all my own ships. Especially military ships because none of them are useful.
The temp solution is there is a filter on the top you can select between All ship, custom ships and core ships. Just click the filter for custom ships only.
- Colony, Constructor, Supply ship all can use more movement. So interstellar drive + unshielded thruster.
- freighter are almost useless without the Probe module to give them unlimited range.
- military ships tend to have resource requirements when it's not needed, and no defenses which is desperately needed.
So I'm basically wiping out the entire list of predesigned ships, every single game. So I'd just rather have an option to have them not generate.
I fully understand the Game, believe me, owning all galciv from 2 to 4, but as Illauna said, never liked the preset ships, and was hoping that in this iteration would be different. Anyway thanks for the responses
zlAblik and I both mentioned why not make your own custom ships and create your own custom ship set style from them in the Civ builder.
You said you did not understand what was proposed and never elaborated further regarding making your own custom ships to which made me come to the conclusion you didn't fully understand the game by what we were suggesting. Your ommission to answer the suggestion to making your own custom ships led to the confusion.
And your answer above is why there was a misunderstanding because you did not answer or elaborate any further regarding the suggestion of creating you own ships.
But thanks anyway, I can use the method exposed by Illauna and continue from there
I suggest marking zlAblik response as the answer to your post topic as he was first to correctly answer your question.
Glad I can help. Yeah as I said I frequently run into the same problem. I already shared feedback a few times so hopefully in the future there is an option to not have to clean up all the predesigned blueprints.
Hey, I am not sure I am getting the issue here?
Predefined ships are usually fine, but you can specialize them, by replacing modules, you like more.
Ships have limited cargo space, so that you can place only specific amount of modules.
There are techs, which increase place for modules on ships.
Or did I miss the question?
