Constant Game Crashes

Just got this game and it keeps crashing anytime I try and play the game and it is kinda annoying, does any one have the same problem?

I do not, only time the game crashes for me is when I try to alt+tab out and do something else. Sorry to hear your dealing with this, game is still by far the best Splintercell in the entire series. Double Agent is 2nd best but sadly that game is better on Console...

Sorry, it just doesn't. Been trying to contact ubi's help desk for a eleven months and they don't give a single ♥♥♥♥. The product is incompatible with newer (all gc's, back to 2014) graphics cards and they couldn't possibly care less. Ubi has always had good stories but they have the most useless support. Thats on us, we should've known ubi would sell defective ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with disregard. Almost as bad as EA

I'm bummed for you guys, I didn't have any of the issues you're experiencing while playing. If the VCs are at issue, my 1050 Nvidia isn't one of them.

I don't suppose the game could be conflicting with one or more programs on the effected PCs? A few yrs back I recall reading that ones malware protection messed with some on line games and that disabling it before starting the game was said to solve the issue for some players.

Try to install the widescreen fix. Mine would always crash too until I downloaded that. Search up Splinter Cell Chaos Theory 2020 fixes and im sure you will find way to fix it.

Also try to change your shader model in the advanced settings. I'm pretty sure that's a common fix for some. Hope this helps. Chaos Theory is a forever favourite of mine and you deffo gotta experience this masterpiece

I didn't do either of those things for CT, the game ran fine without it. I did install the widescreen fix and PS2 textures on SC1 only to see if it made any improvements, they were enough to leave them in.

It kept crashing at startup for me too, but I found a fix. I'm on Windows 10 btw.

Browse local files, look for 'splintercell3"(application), and right click on it.
Click on 'Properties" at the bottom of the next window that comes up.
Click on the "Compatibility' tab, then find the box that says
"Disable fullscreen optimizations", check the box next to that, apply the change to save it, then try launching the game again.

This worked for me, hope it helps.

To add to this crashing at the start I found closing RivaTuner and MSI AfterBurner stopped the crashing for me on windows 10.

Off topic:

@UbiMark any chance you can ask internally about a remaster of this game for modern systems ? ;)
I'm willing to pay full price as long as the voice acting remains the same (I mean keep Micheal ironside's voice acting work & all others who voiced in the game intact & don't replace it)

Also to add remaster of the first 4 games in the series SC, Pandora tomorrow, SC:CT, Double agent would be awesome if done just right for PC (I guess consoles would also have to be included in that also).

Agreed with Ironside's voice over. The man's been around a looooong time and been in tonza memorable stuff. 1st time I saw him was in an old movie called "Scanners" but what I remember him for most is the TV series V, he's been Ham ever since.
