I can't make any promises or commit to a particular schedule, but I do have some plans for a new version that should allow it to work with every controller, including the steam deck
Thank you for the work you've put in, playing Chaos Theory with my XB1 controller feels so good. It's working great! I have a quick question, does this work with Double Agent as well? I could have sworn I saw someone mention this, but I did skim through a few days later (today) after getting into CT.
Is there a fix for this? I'm using an Xbox 1 controller by USB.
Specifically the camera looks hard at the floor and spins clockwise, regardless of right stick input. And I can make that stop by simply moving dinput8.dll...but that breaks the *rest* of the fix and sets you into using the base game's terrible gamepad support.
Also, YES, the PC port *does* have vibration support in the code somewhere. It's part of a couple of the base game mechanics(like lockpicking and some of the other minigames) so had to be ported over.
The frustrating part about this is that this *should* work and was the very first fix I tried. I've gotten like 2 other fixes working using Xpadder and JoyToKey...but I can't invest Y for either of those. Can only figure out how that works for this, but it's pointless because the camera has lost its mind. I'm playing a non-steam copy and using an Xbox One controller connected via Bluetooth on Win10.
Follow Nalydyenlo's fix instead. I had a spinning camera issue from OP's fix and tried everything you tried as well. Using Nalydyenlo's fix lets you bind the triggers. And no camera spin bug!
Not sure why or what needs to be done to play with the xbox one controller as it just will not work, other steam games detect the controller with no issues
I am also having this exact same problem. There's no direct control over movement speed. It makes it literally impossible to sneak up behind enemies as they hear me and do a quick 180 and start shooting.
Joystick is also greyed out in my options menu.
Using an Xbox Series controller connected via usb cable.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Update: I discovered that going to "Controller Layouts" in the Chaos Theory main steam page has a list of available controller schemes with inputs for controlling movement speed.
I just downloaded one of them to try out and it works perfect.
It recognises my Xbox Series controller no problem.
Hope this helps anyone else who's had this issue.
