How did you fix it? I'm having the same problem.
I cannot start the first mission too. Intro clip runs fine, but later the game stucks when loading mission is complete, the loading screen never goes away and the mission never starts.
It's frustrating and i cannot find any solution.
Thanks if you can post your fix.
Try to unplug the second monitor (not just turning it off, but really unplug the cable from the pc) restart Windows and run the game.
n:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Splintercell Chaos Theory\System\Splintercell3.ini
eg,
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080
(your resolution here)

There are other graphics options you can set in this file, if you have problems in the game or your GPU control software will not over-ride or enhance, eg, AA or DSR, etc...
// can also remove startup videos and change the briefing names to that of your friends. rather than delete a line - comment it out with ; . eg, ; LogosVideo=logos_PC.bik, splashvideo (not screen) and esrb - no more load videos.
The other .ini files - you can do things such as alter grab distance (eg, can grab to interrogate a character from further) and do simple mod to the game to break it.
Decompiling code, cannot fix the tank bug with unofficial patch - but it is caused by the tank "hearing" you in the cell counting as "seeing" you.
Idk Havok well.

Also - you will need to add it as a non-steam game for the steam overlay to work.
Doing the manual set (even works with Nvidia DSR, but GUI almost unreadably small in places) ought to fix the problem.
// just beat lighthouse 100% in 4:58. New record. 4 KOs required. TY sticky shockers.
oh - I didn't read this :p
Another one of those "hey I have a problem - but it's ok I fixed it", 100 people say, "so do I" - OP does not say how they fixed it...
Internets.
Then you can copy the files over on your hard disc and upload the screenshots as if they were taken in SC:CT game, rather than "non-steam" version of your steam version of SC:CT (which doesn't need steam to run.
Seriously dustifier? Say you fixed it without posting your resolution?
