Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Does this game still hold up?
Last SC game I played was renting the first one back when it came out. Decided to grab this one cause it's super cheap, there are a lot of great reviews for it and I wanna try something different.

Halfway through the ship level now and Sam is likable and the gadgets are neat, the music is good and such, but I'm just wondering if this is still a 9/10 game. I'm obviously not comparing it to something like MGS5 or anything, just curious if it still has a lot to offer to someone who hasn't played a game of the series in years, or if what made it great back in the day doesn't seem such a huge deal. I'm gonna play more of it but I'm just curious if people still recommend the singleplayer campaign

I'm not planning to play multiplayer btw but I can assume from the reviews that it was probably a big selling point for the game.

Yes! This game is one of my favorite stealth games ever made. I especially recommend trying to go through the campaign on the hardest difficulty, killing as little people as possible. I just recently finished it and it was a lot of fun. The versus can be a hassle to set up, but if you get it going with some friends it is amazingly fun. Definitely a 10/10 in my book.

Oh cool. I apparently killed 5 people because I didn’t realise Sam was stabbing them when I left clicked after holding them

I’m playing on hard but I’ll restart on expert now I know the accidental kill thing I mentioned.

How would you recommend I use quick saves? I always feel like I’m cheating in stealth games that offer quick saves

Saving isn't a real big deal. What I personally do is try to allow myself only 4 saves per level, which was a feature you could turn on in the classic Hitman games. If you find yourself too tempted to quick save all the time before you do stuff, you could always unbind the quick save key.

Righto. In this situation I usually save when I’ve done an objective

I preferred the 1st 4 SC series games over MGS. I only bought the 1st MGS played it a couple 3 times then let it go. My main gripe was the life draining monologuing and soliloguies

Aye I can give or take the MGS games, 3 is one of my fave games of all time though because it struck all the cool themes I liked and it was a fun, easier to follow James Bond spy movie.
Just finished the bank level on hard, only quick saving when I’ve done an objective and I can see why people enjoy the game now. I was kinda killing it for myself with constant quicksaving and loading

MGS>SC, but both pretty different games, and if you want more of an emphasis on stealth,
then SC is the way to go.

This game is great. Still great. I played first 4 SC games in PS2, now i playing Chaos Theory and yeah still best stealth game(maybe little more than MGS). I also liked Blacklist too. Blacklist offering more action and less stealth but in hard difs it is great game for now(i think).

I NEED NEW SPLINTER CELL BTW

fact!
MGS is pretty much a f*cken' anime. SC has a more realistic aproach to the story(even though it's confirmed they're in the same universe).
It holds up better than that Assasins Creed garbage.
