SC Custom Resolutions (widescr. + FOV)
Hi guys!

Our beloved game "Splinter Cell" is a little bit old right now. ;) Highest available resolution is only 1600x1200. So, what to do now?

It's quite simple. You need to find a file called "SplinterCellUser.ini" located in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Splinter Cell\system. Open this file with Notepad, and edit these settings:

  • for custom resolution
    [Engine.EPCGameOptions] Resolution=1920x1080
  • for custom FOV
    [Engine.PlayerController] DesiredFOV=85 DefaultFOV=85

In this example I changed resolution to 1920x1080 (widescreen) and FOV from 75 (default) to 85 (exact for widescreen res.). Tested on Windows 7 x64, and it's work fine.

Have fun! :)

If you want to take it a bit further, add this to your SplinterCell.ini (not SplinterCellUser.ini).

[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] Translucency=True VolumetricLighting=True ShinySurfaces=True HighDetailActors=True UsePrecaching=True UseMipmapping=True UseTrilinear=True UseMultitexture=True UsePageFlipping=True UseFullscreen=False UseGammaCorrection=True DetailTextures=True UseTripleBuffering=True UsePrecache=True Use32BitTextures=True HardwareSkinning=False AdapterNumber=-1 ReduceMouseLag=False UseTripleBuffering=True ; ForceShadowMode flag : 0==projector, 1==buffer, unspecified==auto-detect ForceShadowMode=0 EmulateGF2Mode=0 FullScreenVideo=True UseVSync=True

Lastly, enable FXAA through the nvidia control panel.

Still plays in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ resolution! Tried "x" "X" "*" but nothing works for my 1920x1080. Any help?:steamsad:

add this to any place specifically or just anywhere will do?
damn thanks i love this game so much literally from my childhood
Is there a way to select the screen? Win+Shift+Arrows will not help as my screens have different resolutions/DPI, the game has to be started there.
