You can’t switch main characters in the base as they will just talk about story events.

So… you can change some characters in the base. The four characters you have to do quests to unlock will hang out in the base and talking to them will let you switch into them.

Unfortunately, all other unlockable characters don’t show up at the base at all, including the DLC ones, which is a big shame. It would be a really cool vibe if they were filling up the sofas on all floors and in that back room etc, so you could speak to them to switch into them.

I believe there is no cypher dance pad because the characters are all already in their set places (well, the ones that are in the hangout anyway). I guess they don’t want to have to despawn them when they’re dancing on that pad, which would be awkward since the selection that dance is random.

IDEALLY, every unlockable character hangs out in the base and when you’re in post game talking to anyone will let you switch into them. No need for a dance pad and there’s no story so we don’t need the final dialogue sticking around.

Having the 6 story characters have no post game dialogue would be nice but none of the postgame or DLC characters (except Coil) are available in the Hideout and have to be accessed by starting a cypher, so the only available characters to switch to in the Hideout are the base side characters (5 of the total 24 playable characters) which means only a 1/5th of the entire roster can be accessed in the hub which is the easiest place to change your outfits and the only place where you can change your movestyle.
They REALLY need to add a dancepad in the Hideout, even if it does cause certain characters to deload, it would make the game much more fun in that aspect.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying though, just have them all hang out in the hangout so you can talk to select them. I don’t get why some of them have this option, story ones don’t and other ones don’t even appear. It’s not like you can see them elsewhere either.
