that was a great interview with Dion Koster
Not talking about the one on steam (it was pretty good too)

I'm talking about this one https://youtu.be/bMMokl-jCqE?t=504

The part that caught me was at 8:24 where Koster said that he would like people to go outside after playing the game and try some of the stuff from the game. Not the going around and graffiti stuff of course, but rather street culture stuff like staking and dancing. What interesting is that after he said this the interviewer steered the conversation away. Maybe he's afraid to go outside and touch a little grass.

Still what an interesting thing to say, Dion Koster seems like a really interesting guy and I'd like to hear more about this culture because I know so little about it.

Yeah i liked that interview, he seems very down to earth, don't see people like that much, putting their everyday hobbies into a game and encouraging us to explore further into it ourselves.
It’s usually HEY BUY MORE CHARACTER SKIN!? THANK YOU
It's a good point to bring up. I do think its concerning how gaming has gone from more of a community/small group (arcade/local multiplayer) to more of an isolating thing.

Although I do like the cult following this series, as well as jsr in general has. There's nothing else quite like it.

Dion putting though into the game and being heavily influenced by his experience with street culture is what brought me toward the game, as well as the obvious inspiration from JSR and JSRF - which themselves are also heavily influenced by street culture.

The fact that he hopes this brings more awareness and interest to it made me extremely grateful and happy as you don't get that too much in games.

Being a street/freestyle dancer myself (doing some of the styles showcased in the game), I even finished the game with newfound inspiration - and tracks to dance to.
