Note that bishops moving back through the T axis therefore have to move along exactly one of the X, Y, or L axes, so a bishop moving back "three spaces of time" has to both move either horizontally, vertically, or across timelines three spaces and not run into any other pieces while moving through those dimensions.

Additionally, try playing the "Checkmate Practice - Bishop" at the bottom of the list of variants, and see how you can move through time and through alternate timelines to get a feel for things.
