CANT INVITE FRIENDS?

my steam friends list wont load into the game so i cant play with anybdoy, is there a fix for this?

In order to see your friends list in the game and be able to invite friends to the lobby, they must first launch the game. And also make sure, please, that you and your friends are logged in to Steam in the system of friends and chats and are Online.

does not work that way. Tried and denies us to play with my friend.
