How do you get runelite to work a steam generated account?

Exactly as the title says, I made a account on steam and wish to download runelite for a account I made through steam.

btw, it doesn't recognize my account when i download and use runelite.

you need to go to the main site of jagex and finish your account creation! Right now you have an account without email and you need that to log into runelite

Easiest is probably to just go to the account management tab and hit "link email" or whatever it says.

guys. i am having the same issue here, and i have NO idea what to do. i have tried to follow these instructions, but there is not enough details. can someone please tell me how to make this work step by step? Every time i try to log in, it tells me my password is wrong. im trying to get the game to launch runelite through steam, which i have succeeded but logging in is the problem

First log into OSRS via steam. In one of the menu tabs, there is an option to link your character to a Jagex account. Click this link and log in with an existing account or create a new one, then link this Jagex account to your Steam profile.
Next download runelite, then download the Jagex launcher and log into that with your Jagex account. After that, when you launch Runescape via the launcher it will give you the option to use Runelite. Choosing this will open runelite with your Jagex account already loggin in.

This is the only way I got it to work.
