Can't i return to an old account?

I decided to create a new account trough steam to check if there was anything new at the start, that could be of value for newer characters.
Now, at start it allowed the choice of a steam account or an older one. I wanted to go back to my old account, but when i try to log trough the steam version, it doesn't let me visit my old account.
Is it intentional (like, associating the old account to steam or something), or is it a bug? I don't mind to go back to use the app but, is a bit annoying.

Curently you can only pick one account through steam. You pick new so you can't lock with old one anymore. Probably intentional because they do warn you about it when choosing it in first time.

You have to go to the runescape 3 website (logged into the account that is already attached to your steam) and manually unlink them. Then log into your old account and link it to your steam.

i think in another thread a jmod said they were looking into options to unlink accounts

If it hasent been resolved yet, you can download the game at the official website and login there

this is what needs to be done, i did this too, since it was an easy mistake to make.

I made the same mistake and you can easily fix this. You have to go to the oldschool website and log in to that new account using the Log in with Steam option. Once there, you can choose to un-link your account.

After you've done that, you need to log in to the account you wish to play with. Once you do that, you'll be given the option to Link that account through steam. When that's all done, just launch OSRS through steam and you should be back on your existing account.
