How's the difficulty?
I've played Demon Souls, and Dark Souls 1-3. The third was a bit too hard imo. How does this compare? I'm especially concerned with bosses. In Code Vein stages are fine, but bosses are a nightmare without a helper (and a face-roll with a helper).

its very fast paced like bloodborne but it plays more like sekiro, its not a lot like dark souls, honestly the bosses are the best part of this game, i liked the bossfights a lot

Honestly I do not think it necessarily plays like Sekiro. I loved the whole DS series and Bloodborne, but did not like Sekiro at all.

It plays fast-paced like Bloodborne, but you can choose between different playstyles. Dodging works fine, parying as well (I never used it), also being aggressive or counter.

I'd say it's probably a bit easier than Bloodborne, but not much. Maybe on par.

Some of the skills from the skill tree are incredibly overpowered, so the game is basically as hard as you want it to be. I've beaten the game at level 1 without plague weapons and even then it wasn't too bad.

Unfortunately, I haven't played Sekiro or Bloodborne. COuld you compare the difficulty to Dark Souls 1-3?

Probably like DS3. Problem is, if you have managed (legitimately, without guides) a DS game, the ones after that become much easier. But from the enemies and bosses probably like DS3 then, maybe a bit easier, but also faster.

But remeber, that is DS3 without any summons, either pc or npc.

This fact is keeping me from trying the game, till they make an easy mode.

Maybe you. I started with Ninja Gaiden and Demons Souls, but I don´t think it is "so easy".
And in my opinion NG was harder than any souls-borne game.

P.S. For OP: It´s pretty decent game.

I suspect, that in 6 or so months, they will add an easy and a hard or NG+ mode to pump sales.

Depends, if you meta game it's quite easy. If you impose self restrictions to avoid using some blatantly overpowered stuff then it doesn't quite get as difficult as Dark Souls.

idk i found code vein way too easy and killed most bosses in ds3 and code vein in 1-5 tries. sorta similar here but at least combat here is more fun and better. many enemies and mini bosses are too easy, there is 2 gimmick bosses, 4 sorta hard bosses and one sorta bit too easy one. if you play souls and souls likes a lot you won't have too many problems and won't die to a boss more than 10 times but that's not to say they are bad. 4 of them are kinda nicely designed. only one is just boring and bad. combat's great and there's about 15 hours to 100% every level

I would say, bosses are a bit more agile than most DS3 bosses - but you are as well and have no stamina bar, so not being 100% thoughtful about every roll and attack compensates the quicker bosses quite a bit.

Also, you can get VERY OP when choosing the right plague weapons, and with some (VERY easily talents that are available VERY early), you can pretty much spam them non-stop.

The first boss, however, is rather hard since you face it before you get the ability to farm the really OP weapons (like the bow) and are still low on heals.

Once you got past that, however, it gets significantly more easy - with bow + plague spam talents it gets almost trivial, except of the first boss and one of the optional ones, all of them were much easier than DS3.

So: The bosses are stronger, but you are as well - effectively, if you can play DS3 to maybe Pontiff, you should not struggle too much with a good build. One of the optional bosses is quite hard, but it is only required if you really want all the endings (wasn't really worth it imo...)

The difficulty is not too hard, but you can get overwhelmed by multiple enemies pretty easily. There is a bit of a learning curve, but once you master the game's mechanics, it is satisfying to play.
