It's understandable when a low budget indie title can't fit character customization into the scope but lets not make up dumb excuses, character customization does make soulslike games better.
Then no buy.
Agreed. Never played DS, but cuz I played ER I most likely will not like DS. Tbh I think ER is overrated, needs to press 2 button to parry, or hit the boss then run away, rinse, repeat, late game becomes Dragon Ball Z, player and the boss staggering or nuking each other. I rather ER is more polished in combat and shorter with less repetition, mechanically more difficult with more various move sets rather than AOE spamming (VFX way too much, animation not enough) character customization is quite cringe to me tbh and certainly doesn’t make combat better. But I don’t go to their community and complain, as it’s just my opinion I’ll keep to myself. But I completely get what you mean.
you just reminded me, sekiro is on sale now. if it's not cuz of that aesthetic i don't like i would have got it a while ago, also cuz ER turned me off a bit, but i've heard that is the best combat system fromsoft ever made, no character customization either
