Kind of how real life AAA game studios don't really give a crap about their fans, and their fans still line up to buy their stuff anyways *cough*Ubisoft*cough.*
I just published a new update for the tool, it is now possible to add NPC IPs to the game.
This version fixes the bugs reported by @semaj9001 and adds the ability to mark platforms as startplatform.
Download is available here: https://github.com/LMH01/MGT2_Mod_Tool/releases/tag/v3.2.0
Thanks again @semaj9001 for reporting the bugs
Backing up the files is heavily recommended before doing so, or even doing what I do, and have a separate, cloned game directory to work on those files and check whether they break anything or not, before placing them in the actual game's directory.
Text editing isn't hard, just time-consuming. I've been playing mostly heavily-modded MGT2 for months now, only switching back to vanilla to test new builds for bugs and balance - which you can't do with modded files, as the files themselves may cause bugs and alter balance.
Edit: Not saying having a tool to edit all those files wouldn't be good, but with text editors like Notepad++ you can batch-edit a lot of things with minimal/no risk of messing up the file structure. I've gone as far as alphabetically ordering the IP file and game/employee file to make it easier to add new entries to them.
I also removed all text but the English one from all files, to make looking through them easier - I play this game in English, so other languages (even my native, Spanish) being in those files is just "window dressing."
