You can't but they don't really ever become outdated. You can update old engines with new features.

no because when I want to adapt the engine for a new console it refuses me and it tells me that I must select a new feature but I don't have a new one I just want to port my engine to a new console, so I have to create some one at each console - -.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste the money on creating an engine for consoles. They get taken from the market too fast. So far, I've only made engines for PC. But that's just my opinion.
