B+ games pay more than most short assignments will, and if you unlock A games you'll be getting a million per game easily. My usual strategy is to rush to unlock first B+ and then A games. Once I start getting A game offers, I can quickly unlock QA, graphics and sound studio.
Anyhow, contract games are a way to improve the "experience" in all parts of your games (the "stars" in each item) which makes getting higher review scores easier, and also makes games cost less to develop by lowering the prices of engine/gameplay features.
As for AA and AAA contract games... They're pretty much pointless despite the money they can give you - they'll give less money than you'll be making from your own games by the time you can research them.
Hmm... Ok. I was mostly focusing on the early game. That makes sense that they pay more with higher tier games.
