QA Game Analysis too easy?
I just wondered what other people think about this? I like the game priority hints as they are not just set a slider and win, you have to balance all the pips to match those which is more difficult and fun to tinker.

My problem is with the green numbers on the sliders basically saying "if you change from this the game will be worse" I feel this turns an important part of making a game into just set here and win.

Now what i'm suggesting is maybe just an option to remove sliders from Game Analysis at game start rather than change the game. Harder difficulties need the sliders (seems most people just google the best sliders).

I feel its more fun reading fan letters and tinkering around rather than be told whats what etc.

I'm thinking of doing a run with no game analysis but ill hate missing all the other info.

Something I suggested before, and was discussed as maybe being added later was the requirements for games dynamically changing through the years. So the settings for games would evolve. That would solve some of the 'set it and forget it'

As it stands now, I think the system works pretty good. Anyone who googles the sliders or writes them down etc can't really complain about how easy things are, as they are actively going out of their way to make it easier. There's nothing wrong with playing however you want though.

I think like you said, your best bet is to just avoid using the game analyst if that's the style you want to play.

On legendary, when money is tight and games get expensive - there's quite a bit of risk in jumping into new genres blind as even with a partial report giving some hints it can be a costly mistake. So I think it would be a little too hard if you had no help at all from reports.

Try the random-settings and don`t use the QA. On difficult hard is it possible not to use gamereports.

I can't find any value in this proposal.
Since it is difficult to make high-quality games in the early stages, you will receive fewer fan letters. Furthermore, if the slider is removed from the game analysis, there will be no hints for improving the quality of the game.
The most important thing to avoid is that "beginners play and the game is over without knowing how to improve the game".
No one wants to play such a game if the game system is based on the assumption that the best slider will be searched on Google before playing.

Well it is why i suggested maybe another option at the start of the game to remove the Slider hints instead of forcing it upon everyone, I think everyone can agree more custom starting conditions is usually a good thing.

I like the idea of settings evolving over time. It makes sense from a historic standpoint as well given that in any given decade the definition of a genera of game is slightly different.

This suggestion, if optional, I could agree with. I mean, the game has randomization I never use because rack fundomization (yup,) so having more options I won't use won't harm me. Way too many games I've played through my life would have been a lot better if most of their difficulty mechanics/survival mechanics were optional or customizable. Bethesda's been screwing that up, and modders have been fixing Bethesda's screw-ups for decades now, and that's just one example of many.

Me, I have played the game enough times to be bored sick of the whole "guessing game" of the sliders. Heck, in Legendary, even knowing the sliders' perfect settings from the start will not guarantee your success, as there are dozens of other factors ready and eager to screw you up (bad topics on start, lack of researchers on listing, only expensive employees on listing, the game deciding to have the one topic you can use with Skill be unpopular for the first few months...) and your studio's lack of experience with the many parts that make up a game will also negatively impact your game's ratings and popularity.

So yeah, knowing the sliders? Not as broken as some think, unless you're playing in Sandbox Mode (aka Medium/Easy/Very Easy.)
