Ingrid has... speed and decent power. One of the fastest characters in the game. Not much else to say about her.
Oboro... requires a ton of investment to make her good, otherwise heavily underperforms compared to 70% of the characters.
It doesn't matter which you pick. If you play long enough, you can unlock every character except Annerose for free with gems. Pick whichever one you like the most.
But be noticed only Murasaki(the girl with axe)has strong late game performance due to the OP healing skills she has among all the girls you mentioned. And Maika might have a hard time of surviving.Ingrid and Oboro are fine but they don't have healing skills either so things may get a little bit tough while you progressing with them.
Unless or until you have built a very high stat, healing capacity is always the priority of late game playing,in my opinion.
Hope it helps.
I think i will stay on my first choice, maika, for the fun, then, as i will get Murasaki for free with the welcome challenge.
My reason is that while she has high damage, she needs you to have high stats in order to enjoy playing with her in my opinion. As the more you play the stronger your damage output gets (because of the Weapon inventory system, and the amount of magata/weapon forge items you get), there will be a time when her damage output will be high enough so that you won't be bothered by her slowness.
IMO she is weak no matter her level, she looks more like a tank class rather than a glass-canon and yes tank characters are kinda bad because most important quests have a time limit (arena tower, T5VR), also when the ennemy flee maika tend to miss.....
If you got some videos that prove me wrong I'll be glad to see them.
I have a better grasping of the game (well, I did spent more than 800 hours on it..) and I would say Maika is a top tier character, along with Astaroth and Felicia (my go to build in Arena is these three together).
Her damage is S tier, and the fact that she can attach any enemy from enywhere is a very good point for her. I love playing her.
But you have to play a red build to use it, which prevent you from getting any source of health regneration from a supporter.
For a move to be beyond broken in this game, I would say it needs to have high damage and Health regeneration.
Mizuki Shiranui's Rondo & Senkou are beyond broken. They allow her to play a red buid (damage focus then) while having the luxury to get some huge healing.
Asuka's "Kill them all missile" with her new weapon (Serpent of Carnage) is a better skill than Death from Above.
Now if they gave a new weapon to Maika that would allow Death from Above to get health regeneration, that would be a broken move for sure.
Of course, this sort of playstyle is risky on VR 30+ and a few Event Bonus Stage 3, but at that point, without 3 blue supporters or magatamas, you're gonna get blasted in one hit anyway, so why show any restraint?
