First game I completed. Any similar games I can try?
I'm a complete newbie in gaming, and not quite used to intense shootings. The sentinel and zurks parts were challenging, but I completed the whole thing in 13 hours.... I loved the puzzles, graphics, story. Any similar games that I can try?

This question has been asked before; try searching the forum for "similar games", For example, try: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1332010/discussions/0/3832046780613268828/

If you're into cyberpunk vibes, and adventure games with no combat and an emphasis on just story and puzzle solving, I will always and forever recommend The Longest Journey. Do some googling first for possible compatibility issues on modern systems, but it's really still a shining diamond of its genre, despite showing its age in a lot of ways. At least in my eyes.

The Longest Journey is possibly the best Graphical Adventure game ever made.

Bibliophiles will certainly enjoy the series.

Good discussion
Sounds like atmospheric combat-free narrative adventure, puzzle, and graphical adventure games might be your jam potentially. Off the top of my head:

  • The Longest Journey and its sequels (basically graphical adventures, the first one being one of my favorite games of all time easily - though it's getting old now, and might not be intuitive to contemporary players coming into it fresh. Its last sequel, Dreamfall Chapters, might be a better choice in that case.)
  • Portal 1 & 2, as others have suggested (these are more puzzle and physics oriented, but do have a bit of narrative to them, and some enjoyable humor.)
  • The Stanley Parable (less puzzle, more purely narrative and some satirical and existential stuff I won't spoil.)
  • Cloud Punk (A cyberpunk themed game with no combat, but some light timed elements here and there. Mostly narrative driven and just going from point A to point B to accomplish tasks while you progress the story.)
  • Myst and its followup Riven (which are classics, and just had a remakes not long ago)
  • maybe check out any of the Telltale adventure games.

Look into any games on Steam with the Adventure tag and see if they include combat or not and if they look like they're up your alley.

If what you say is true, then you haven't yet played a video game. Stray is an Interactive Story.

And interactive stories - from text adventures to visual novels - have existed since the dawn of the video games industry. And I can assure you, none of us back in the day were prescriptively chiding one another for playing something that "wasn't a video game." We just played what we wanted to, in all the myriad forms they took. I recommend people do the same today.

Firewatch, its pretty chill and also a walking sim mostly. I go back to it from time to time, its close in length too.

Firewatch is a good game and all, but I can't really see it as "similar". Stray has a lot of stealth and combat elements, while Firewatch really is basically a walking sim with a plot. I get frustrated with this kind of "similar games?" question in general. Even if you can decide what counts as a "similar game", there's no telling if you'd like one game based on if you like another game. You can't even tell if one game is a direct sequel to the other. Prince of Persian: Sands of Time I loved, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within I hated. There's no substitute for DYOR.

What's usually frustrating, is what ppl are able to suggest just to add some answer, because mostly what they suggest cannot be more off from the aspect of similarity and game vibe. Same with every game, I'm often having good laugh reading eg. reddit answers. Like seriously is Mass effect in this thread? LOL

So my answer is They Are Billions; I like both games so they must be similar, right? Wait, maybe they're in same universe. The zurks could be just another type of infected, and all the living humans in Stray just left to hide out in the Great Crater.

I think you'd like 30 BIRDS. Relaxing puzzle game, beautiful graphics.
