Frequently Asked Questions
We will collect all frequently asked question here and keep the post up to date. So if you have a question be sure to check this thread before posting.

What platforms are supported?
Currently we are supporting Window and Linux.
The game is also available for Android and iOS through their native stores.

Is this the same as the mobile version?
The content of the game is the same as on mobile but the UI has been reworked to better fit a desktop environment with larger screens and a mouse as input device while trying to keep the blocky comic style of the game.

Does the progress get carried over from mobile?
Yes. All platforms will support cloud saving and use the same save slot once you logged into your account. Mobile and Steam accounts can be linked and used for all our games (that use the new system). Things that get synchronized: unlocked content, built cave upgrades. What does not get syhcnronized: current patrol, quest progress (and selection), Fezes and Tentacles.

What is the Fellhuhn Game Service?
That is our backend for cloud saving, achievement tracking, leaderboard and all the other online features. An account for you is automatically created, using your SteamID as identifier. For mobile devices we use your email (the one you use for registration in those games) and password for identification. It is possible to merge those accounts (the dialog for that is in the Steam version of the game) using the mobile credentials.

Requires 3rd-Party Account: Fellhuhn Game Service (Supports Linking to Steam Account)
I assume that's for keeping progress between PC and mobile? Didn't see any account linking in the Linux version. Where is that supposed to be in the game UI?

The option is in the main menu under Settings -> Edit Profile.

It allows to keep the unlocks synced as well as the leaderboard entries. Otherwise you would have two seperate accounts. The mobile version currently does not support the new online system. A beta version for Android has been uploaded today but isn't available yet (Google's review process takes a bit longer atm). Once that is going well the 1.20 update with the new online system will be released for Android and iOS.

It was supposed to be released at the same time as the Steam version but as it turns out Valve is way quicker with their review process.

EDIT: To clarify it a bit more: The mobile versions (Android/iOS) will use a normal email/password login, so an account will have to be created on those devices (including the mandatory email confirmation step).
Once that is done those credentials can be used in the Steam version of the game to link both. Two accounts will then become one.

I see it now. I would suggest then removing that part from Steam:
Requires 3rd-Party Account: Fellhuhn Game Service (Supports Linking to Steam Account)
As it's not a *required* feature of the game, and instead mention it as an additional possible feature in the description as I've seen it already put someone off. Since it's not actually required in any form to play the game, it makes no sense to say it is required.

The account gets automatically generated (to store cloud syncs, achievements, leaderboards etc.) so it would be unfair not to mention it as the users are affected by the service. That line gets generated by Valve and the wording sounds a bit evil.

Hnefatafl (another of our games) uses the same service/account for its async online play.

Removing the hint might result in some complaints (especially regarding privacy issues) and that is not a territory I want to enter. ;)
