Link EA account to Steam

I noticed Steam is promoting an EA account, but I already have an EA Pro account and I cannot find a way to link steam and EA so I don't have to buy games that are free on EA. How can I do this without re-buying EA on Steam?

When you launch a game that requires the EA App through Steam, it will launch the EA App. It will ask you to sign into your EA account. Once you do, it will link that account to your Steam account.

That's not what I asked.

Look at it this way. I have Mass Effect Legendary Edition through EA Play. I don't have it through Steam. If I want to install it in Steam, it wants me to join EA Play, which I am already a member of. I cannot install MELE until I do that.

If you don't own it on Steam, you're not playing it through Steam. The closest you'll get is adding your EA App copy to Steam as a non-Steam game and using the Steam overlay.

Edit: It doesn't want you to join EA Play. It just requires you to agree to the EA Play ToS, should you subscribe to EA Play through Steam.

I ended up having to unlink my steam account from my EA account, then make a new EA account to link my steam too. Very poorly set up between the two systems
