What the ♥♥♥♥ did they even remaster?
I'm looking at side by side video comparisons and it's difficult to see any improvements.

Textures look the same.

3D models look the same.

Reflections look the same.

Rain effects seem to look a bit better in the remaster.

The lighting on the other hand is awful. Worse than the original. Everything looks much darker in broad daylight for no reason.

Is there more content? Mod support? Overhauled game mechanics? What?

Better shadow draw distance
Massively increased draw distance and LOD system
Better Reflections on the cars

lol comparing graphics from a recorded and encoded video is different from it actually being played on your system. You must be new to PC gaming smh.

Yeah...I will give EA 30 euros and trust them cos it says remastered on the cover. They never lied before. You're right. It's all because of the video encoding. I bet once I start playing myself the differences will be as clear as in Resident Evil 2.

Maybe it should, depending on what you are expecting. They are not going to make any changes to the games outside of touching up textures, character models and effects, support for modern resolutions and frame rates. That is all they have announced, so if you're expecting anything else you're in for disappointment.

I think especially ME1+2 are still great games but could use some updating, so I am happy they're revisiting the titles and touching them up a bit.
The thing is that ME1 and 2 need more than just texture touch ups. A lot of people choose to skip ME1 completely because of how broken the gameplay is. ME2 is slightly better but it's not as good as ME3. If they could add the gameplay of ME3 to all three games, that'd be super good

You act like 30 euros is a lot, it's not.

His comment is pending review so I quoted him to speed it up.

You don't own this game, yet you're defending it.. Why are you here exactly? I'm not buying it because it doesn't support wheels, you don't have an excuse because you're acting like a paid EA shill.

If you can't really tell the difference between either side and it's not because of the bitrate of the encoded video, they didn't change much. Both sides are clear, for remastering the game it should look a lot better.

The method works and you can see it here:

Your argument is invalid, you're a shill and a troll.

If it's not a lot then give me 30 euros. Thanks.

There are a couple improvements, but not many. In the hours I've sunk into this so far the only changes I see is that the draw distance on foliage and terrain features has been increased substantially. There are also lens flares from light sources, and of course the option to enable AA.

I've not been able to identify a single texture or model in the game that looks brushed up for this release, and I have quite a few hours clocked on the original version, even quite recently, so I'd like to think I'd be able to spot any changes.

To me, that's not worth $30 bucks.

Both at the game's max settings @ 1080p on Muscle Reflex with the Bee Yellow Camaro.
Not too much changed. The reflections are much higher quality in the Remaster, there is no longer any Z Fighting in the reflections like in the original. The weird saturation filter is gone and the lighting is less wacky. The car stays Bee Yellow in the desert, rather than looking burnt orange. The road no longer turns into a black abyss when you're out of the sun like in the original. The foliage looks sun-bleached green rather than dark green or brown.
Shadows look a bit better, you can see the phone lines casting shadows now.
I don't see much changes in the textures. The hills in the back just look like a up-rezzed version of the same texture.
Also you can't hide the photo controls in the original. It expects you to upload it to autolog, where it will then destroy the quality.

Waiting for Syncroniam to say, "ZOMG YOU'RE ALL IDIOTS! YOU CAN'T TELL HOW MUCH BETTER THE GRAPHICS ARE THROUGH SCREENSHOTS! NOOBS!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hocksmonovits, thank you for contributing useful content to the thread.

Also.. This part is hilarious:

What if that was on purpose to encourage people to not say it like it is?

I mean if the goal was to say the original looks better, comparing steam's screenshots to an Autolog upload at like 50% JPG compression is never gonna come out in Autolog's favor lol.
More confused as to why people say they miss Autolog honestly. You still get all of its photo mode functions, you just miss out on a pointless achievement and it disconnecting randomly like on PS3.
