You need a no cd .exe to play it anyway. Underground 1 to carbon uses safedisc DRM which no longer works on windows 7/10. And mods like extra options requires a specific no CD .exe anyways
I would honestly not expect the regular versions to hit steam, ever as the licenses for those games are long expired
They could just put it on Steam without the outdated DRM. It used to be on Origin too
Only carbon/pro street was on origin. I have them, but they were removed a long, long time ago (most likely due to licensing) I honestly don't expect them to pay hundreds of thousands in relicensing just to release old versions to steam, it might be better off being remastered
Why the f did i even expect something from EA.
This....
This is the reason I'm sure but I'm also sure they just don't wanna release them because that's going to totally and absolutely put all of their next 10 titles to shame.
Im scared of this too...
car licenses have expired, music licenses have expired or their licensors have died, they've probably lost the code to black box' EAGL engine and when you consider the current game's handover from criterion to stellar engendered literally no substantial changes to assets, and actively removed some which were tied to expired licenses, even if stellar attempted a remaster of the holy trinity it'd be ♥♥♥♥♥
Well, they had the source code for command and conquer to develop the remastered games and that's from 1995. I wouldn't worry about them not having EAGL's source code. The last game that used EAGL was NFS world, and that's from 2010
Car licenses can always be re-licensed, except maybe toyota, but they could always add something else as a replacement, music is a little bit different, even burnout paradise didn't have every song in the remaster, as they cut two
Stellar did a decent job in remastering burnout paradise. It was a clear and day difference with the textures. But NFS HP doesn't seem to have any graphical improvements to me.
That was a thing to begin with? I dont think much people will use it lol
