Stuck in Lockdown and falling through the map on Dead Plaza

Today I got stuck in a Lockdown room on Dead Plaza. There were 2 big guys spawned, and one of them walked *through* the Lockdown door and I lost track of him...

I was running around, trying to figure out if I was glitched or just missing something (I get lost easily in games...) and chainsawed my way through the map like this person:

I was able to make my way to the beginning of the level, and the big guy was there! So I killed him, problem solved.

Wait... I just got to Atrium. Spoiler alert!

Is... is this intentional??? Oh my god, this is awesome.
