Do we know what type of multiplayer will be put in place over the next few updates? Co-op? Deathmatch?

I would love to see Deathmatch in this game to, I feel like this game has a ton of potential.

I'd love to have Deathmatch too, unfortunately we're only targeting Co-op play.
Reason being, we had a prototype of deathmatch up and running, but the speed of the players combined with the small hitbox made it almost impossible to get any kills. Couple this with latency and it was an absolute nightmare.

The only way to really get it working would be to drastically change the games mechanics, which I didn't feel would be the right move.

I might look into getting some kind of deathmatch mode up and running in the future, but for 1.0 we're just targeting coop play.

ey thanks for the info! Personally, I was most looking forward to Co-Op so this is plenty cool to me! Deathmatch would be rad if it was working but also I don't think I'd be able to hang at all at those speeds. I can barely keep up with Q3A players at that speed, let alone players with the CHEGG

yeah deathmatch wouldve been an overpowered mess, but what could have been is fun to think about

The deathmatch mode will basically have the same problems as if ULTRAKILL had a dethmatch mode, the game movement and weaponary with abilities is balanced only for co-op/single player vs AI

there's currently a co-op beta available on the [beta] branch which creates a lobby code for another player to join in (It's restricted to endless mode and doesn't feature the campaign for the time being). It is launching with 1.0 in 10 days.

bump and update on 1.0 and multi-player, the release has been pushed back to what Is estimated to be around mid-August as Sam/Wadaholic announced in the Discord server. Fundamentally the game is complete and would be ready to launch but finer adjustments and tweaks are in greater favor for a better experience. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this decision.

On the topic of coop, please don't make it like Prodeus or most other retro shooters where the players respawn instantly after dying. I love Prodeus, but my brother and I stopped playing it together because you can totally cheese the campaign on coop with instant respawn. It kills the thrill of avoiding death.

I think Halo came up with a decent way of handling coop respawn: you need to clear all the enemies nearby or survive by yourself for a certain amount of time. You can still cheese it by backtracking out of the fray, but it's still a lot more intense than instant respawn.

Take that feedback with a grain of salt because I'm buying this game regardless! I've avoided the demo so I can bask in the glory of a the full game. Amazing work to the whole team!
