Weird audio issue...

Hey, I've been playing this game since the first days of early access and never noticed anything weird about the sound effects, but ever since the release of 1.0 they seem odd.

Music and voice acting is super loud, but all other sound effects seem almost muted. Gun firing sounds are kinda close to being alright, but enemy sounds are so low I can barely hear them (the sounds they make firing guns is almost non-existent). Same for almost all other sound effects.

All of the volume sliders are up as far as they can go. I'm not sure what could have happened to make things all weird now. And it's not just my speakers, I have the same issue playing with headphones.

Any ideas?

This youtube video seems to have the exact same audio issue I have, and earlier I saw Gianni playing this on stream with the same muted audio. Is this just how the game is supposed to sound? I don't mean to sound snotty, I just remember enemy attacks making noise, more ambient environmental sounds, and the chainsaw leg roaring to life every time you use it. Everything seems extremely faded or just missing...

I've got this too, I played in EA and the audio was good, but now it kinda sounds like its trying to come through a surround sound system where everything besides voices and my own gunshots are super quiet. Like, I can tell that there is sound, but I can't really hear it.

My audio seem off or different as well. The foot step sound is not audible at times, and when it is, it is very muted. Any way to force stereo or headphone mode?

I have this problem as well, the audio mixing seems to be completely messed up.

Just started playing the game and came to check the forums if anyone else had this issue. It feels like 70% of the sounds are just not there, no footsteps, dashing or jumping barely make a sound, enemies sound very quiet, guns make sounds but 3 levels in they all sound very pitiful. Is the game really intended to sound like this?

Not yet. I know this was mostly made by one guy, so I'm just being patient.

I played the level where you control the vehicle and flying it around made no sound whatsoever. Flying around the city in dead silence felt really weird. I've kind of gotten used to the quiet sounds otherwise, but this really stuck out, surely it's not meant to be like that.

I've added sound channel sliders to the latest patch (can be tested in the [beta] branch). Should be able to tune things to your liking with this

Just tested it and, while the mixing options fix the issue with enemy sounds and you can now make the guns DEAFENINGLY loud, there's still a LOT of muted audio. There's practically no ambient environmental noise, the chainsaw is muted, dashing makes no sound, pickups make almost no sound (it's very slight)...it really seems like it's stuck in surround sound mode and no longer works in stereo like it did in early access.

Hope that it can be fixed in the future.

Broken here too under Windows 10.
Just WTF? I rarely find a game with such broken sound like here.
