Enter through the cave shown on this part of the map here. Eventually you should come to apart of the cave that has a red light and you are looking for a hanging solider. The solider has the night vision goggles on his head. Just be aware that once you enter the cave you will have to go through the entire cave to get out.

Strongly disagree here. They are very useful for seeing dark areas. That said... the green color does seem rather unappealing to look at. Another advantage of using the NVGs is that you can use the bow more accurately as bows don't allow flashlight attachments.
