How to deal with "trash"?

So, how do I get rid of unused logs sitting around in my camp? After chopping up a ton of logs to 3/4 length for example I have no use for the small pieces.

I live hear a river so I’ve been tossing my scrap wood in there. I’m sure they get stuck on something downstream but they’re my neighbors problem now.

Oh about the game, after you save and come back they disappear.

look in the crafting book right side, it should show a quarter log platform thingy you can make

put in the ground sometimes cannibals will attack it instead of ur base so you can have time to deal with it and limit the damage they will dealt to it
