i see some people reporting to be finnished with the story inside of 8 hours. im not intrested in the fact that you can practically build forever. i wanna hear how long it took you guys to get through the story.

lets get hear some more in here and try to make an average.

I'm at a little over 9 hours, doing exploring almost exclusively. Feels like I haven't done even half of the story. People who beat the game after 8 hours were using guides or watching streamer playthroughs to rush through the game. My conservative estimate is 15-20 hours for the story alone if you're going in blind.

Just like the forest 1. You can finish the game in a couple hours. If you want the story to last, then make it last! The story lasts as long as you the player wants to make it last. As you are the one playing the game. Builds stuff and explore, don't use guides to find all the good gear and then rush to the end. That's how you ruin it.

6/7 hours to fully explore the map, gear up and finish the story.

My first playthrough was 13.3 hours without using internet for help. Second ''speedrun'' was 5 hours.
