Does trees grow back?

Does the trees grow back if I leave the stump?

Not sure I'm gonna reboot and sleep at the camp and see if it's like the first one where 10% of the trees nearby respawn with the right setting

Not very fast, that for sure. Forest was faster plus had an option to enable it. Here, nothin so far

They don't grow back from stumps. They grow back from new saplings around the chopped tree :) I assume you can break the stumps, just like in the first game.

Yes you can break the stumps up, cleared an area cleanly by doing this

Forgot to add: you hold the hatchet for a couple of seconds and your character performs a heavy overhead kind of swing which shatters the stump

I do know that stumps are clearable but the question is if there are any trees regrowing if you do so.

In my game, either the trees did regrow, or the stumps disappeared on their own. I will take a guess and say they did in fact regrow, but I think it took around 10-15 days. My game currently is 20 days, but I am on the custom long days so idk if that has an impact or not

On my first save I was at 29 days and trees didn't regrow, the stumps just dissapeared idk

Haven't had any regrowth at all in my game. I'm on day 30 I believe. Some areas I've cleared the stumps and some areas I left them, nothing has grown anywhere.

I hear people saying this but Im not sure if they just got killed and reloading saves creates the false feeling that they grow or people got bugs related to this...
