very cheap Nioh 2 PC edition at key seller (50% off)?
This sounds to good to be true, but I bought from such sites countless times and never had a problem. This is the first time that I have seen such a discount on a newly releasing game though. Anyone else preordered the game?

I read through the rules and didn't see anything forbidding it but I'm still gonna refrain from posting a link for now, you can easily find the deals I mean by just searching for "nioh 2 pc key"

Nothing wrong with buying from key sites but 50% id be real leary about. And theres only a handful of those sites that are actually legit most are just scamming you out of your money. But nothing wrong or against TOS from buying from key sites its a do it at your own risk type thing.

Yeah, I know and I never had problems with them before and I'm using since around the time BF3 released. but like you said the 50% off makes me think something is fishy because it does seem to be too good.

The legit one I saw was green man gaming's offer. They have 20% off discount code for upcoming games which includes Nioh 2 Steam. I only used them once when I bought AC Odyssey and they seems to be legit.

Can't go wrong with CDkeys either, I got a key reserved for £28 which is 44% lower than what it's listed for on Steam

agreed, in my case only gmg offer best price tag ( cdkeys also offer good price tag , 543K IDR , but their keys are not directly from pub, so big no no for me ) , from 49.99 USD to 38.99 USD (around 550K Indonesia rupiah) , compared to steam, 699K IDR :steamsad:

I think I will PO on gmg before the discount end ( 31 jan )

I don't know which key seller you're looking it at, but i think it's grey one. That is the only reason i can think of, since you're able to get a 50% discount on a game that hasen't even released yet.

Greenman Gaming is completely legit and only gets official keys direct from publishers. Their discount has been as high as 23% for this game so far.

The site you're talking about is likely grey market; since it's a pre-order, most likely the keys were bought in another region and are being sold cheaper in USD. There is some risk with that, in that it could get revoked (less likely) or you might activate a region-specific version with censorship. Nioh 1 had a lot of people with the latter issue, where decapitation/dismemberment was censored on Asia region copies and the key they got was for that region. Not sure if Nioh 2 has similar censorship but I'd assume so.

Yeah Greenman is a partnered reseller, other places are usually region scumming to make up the loss and as mentioned before can lead to some people getting censored versions as a result, and then there are those that get keys through other means, and those ones get removed from your account when found.

Kind of a use at your own risk thing, personally if its that big of a discount i wouldn't trust it

Yeah I wouldn't risk a sale that big for a new release on a grey market key site, stick with the legit ones for peace of mind like GMG as they have 22% off currently till end of the month.

i did buy a game from off site, and in first time ever this month, steam revoked it and removed it from my library, telling me the key was not obtained in a valid reseller. now i lost not much as it was cheap, but i do not want to wake up on some bigger selling games and have it removed, never again.

my only sources from now on are greenman and humble

For future reference, Fanatical is also a legit reseller. It's rare they beat out GMG/Humble in price but I've seen it happen (for SoulCalibur VI, at launch they had the cheapest price on the Deluxe Edition I could find) so they're worth checking on occasion.

Did you tell the shop where you bought this? I read they give you a new key if that happens (some of them)

Yeah, also Gamesplanet, voidu, gamersgate etc... Isthereanydeal.com is a good way of checking retailers, as they only list legit, authorized stores, if the store is not listed on there, it's probably grey market.

GMG ran a promotion where all full price PC games were 22% off with a voucher that I think has expired and currently I think it's 22% off if you're a certain member level (i.e. if you've spent enough on their site.) I see it as 22% off but I'm a Gold member. May wanna try creating an account and see if it adds any kind of discount.
