Smithing texts not dropping anymore ?

All the bosses stopped dropping smithing texts. I am using kodama bowl, full kodama hunter blessing and so on. No smithing texts drop anymore. I wanted to get Arrows Bane smithing text... after fighting William 25 times and Otakemaru (maybe 20 times) I gave up. Now I need Hayabusa set, from Ren Hayabusa. Same story... I think I am past 20 attempts already, maybe close to 30. NO SMITHING TEXTS.

Game's RNG is very erratic. I beat Yoshimoto over 4 hours and never dropped Switchglaive hidden skill. Then, I fought Mumyo in dojo again and she dropped both skills in < 10 tries.

Yesterday, I beat boss in The Dragon Clan sub mission first time and he dropped 3 hidden skills.

FWIW, bosses in Winds of Ruin sub mission tend to drop smithing texts.

Just between u and me. Use a trainer just for max drop rate if youre already at end game. There are too many new games left unplayed in my account to rely on RNGeesuz.

just pump up the item drop to 40% and try to get the smithing text in samurai difficulty. It is easy no need to cheat. Most probably high drop rate of material through kodama blessing counters your chances of getting item drops.

2 of Ren Ren Hayabusa's skill drops are scripted. So technically you just got the third one through rng

Just checked - I got Izuno Drop for Fists and Sword, Flame Dragon and Tiger Claws (technically 4 hidden skills). Which 2 are scripted?

Guys, you talk about improving the item drop rate. On all tutrials on the internet/youtube everyone says, that if I need smithing texts, I should maxx our my Luck. so which one should I go for? Shouldnt I max the luck, and materials drop rate instead of item drop rate ?

Izuna Drop and Flame Dragon are scripted

izuna drop is one skill, u don't get 2 separate drops for each weapon.
I also got all 3 when i beat him so most likely these 3 r scripted.

For farming texts, do the following:

i) Have hunters kodama blessing(which gives u material drop, there is no blessing for item drop. Both r same)
ii) Equip itokuri as spirit
iii) Equip 2 soul cores with item drop rate+ kodama soul core
iii) Equip kodama helmet
iv) Temper 'item drop' on all your gear, including ranged weapons. Some weapons like pickaxe and barbarian hatchets will always have item drop rate, but they r not necessary
v) Have luck or luck bonus based on amrita gauge+ item drop on accessories. Sudama netsuke has higher item drop rate than others. If u have luck based on AG, make sure your gauge is full when fighting them. You can use a gem(forgot the name), or spirit stones to fill it easily.
vi) Use luckbringer talisman when fighting them. Make sure the bonus is active during kill
vii) Modify a skill with mercenary strike, and use that skill for killing blow.

If u follow these steps, your item drop should be easily around 40-45%, excluding hidden modifiers like luckbringer and hunters blessing(check status screen).
Make sure to maximize your item drop stat, not luck, which should be your secondary priority.
And make sure you fight the enemy on the easiest difficulty on the easiest mission.

Most important: If the boss drops nothing, instead of finishing missions, quit to main menu and continue. You will start from the last shrine.
Also, if the boss drops any other smithing text or skill, make sure to pick it up and finish the mission; because those items will now be removed from the drop pool, therefore making your odds at future attempts significantly better.

And even with all these steps, it might take you 50+ kills. RNG is a b**ch.
