Should i play Nioh 1 before this?

Got Nioh 1 complete edition from epic games giveaway and was wondering if it was better to start with 1 then 2 or it is the same game but as better feature/gameplay with the 2?

should i bother playing the first or nioh 2 is just a completly superior games in every way?

You don't need to play Nioh 1, not even to understand the story.

I particularly like Nioh 1 a LOT.
Most people prefer Nioh 2, maybe because it's a newer game, more polished, more skills, more weapons... I don't know, you decide. 🙂👍🏽

After you play Nioh 1, Nioh 2 is a walk in the park. Pretty easy. 👍🏽

IMO: nioh1 has the better story, characters and levels. Nioh 2 has more polished gameplay (more mechanics), itemization and better endgame.

personally I wouldn't unless you REALLY care about the story, the gameplay in nioh 2 is a big upgrade in every single aspect

If I didn't play any of these, I'd probably play the first one for the story (only ng but skip higher ng+ cycles and endgame) and then play the second one until dream of the nioh and the endgame. Just beware, the first one isn't quite as polished gameplaywise. It's set of rules in battle is a bit loose compared to nioh 2. also nioh 2 is like nioh 1.5. don't expect to see a different game.

i would play 1 anyway jsut because is fun and unique, i have no hopes for RoR, imtemixzation is horrible and to muhc focus on parry like wo long the failling game

2 is so, so much better. levels/bosses in 1 are absolute trash in comparison.

Id recommend just watching a story recap. The first game is good, but this game is just that but better on every level and more content.
I played like 20 hours, then realized I should just play 2. Ended up watching a story recap, and that was that.
I dont regret, and normally im the person to play all the games prior. But I dont think for this game, its really needed.

Nioh 2 is better, if you dont play Nioh 1 beforehand you miss like 5 minutes of being extremely excited for a reveal at the tail of the main game. Not worth it to play a worse game just for those 5 minutes.

For me Nioh 1 got a better story alongside with better characters

Oh, and also it has a my all-time favorite map of water temple

But literally everything else are 15 times better in Nioh 2
