Hardest DLC?

Need a tip, just finished the base game and on to the DLCs. Am I going to run into a brick wall like in Nioh 1? Should I run through NG+ before jumping into the DLCs?

Are they all comparable difficulty or is there any recommended order?

tengu's disciple is the first dlc

darkness in the capital is the second dlc

the first samurai is the third dlc

I do think they get progressively more difficult, but a thing I like to do is go to dream of the strong and get some nice divine gear together with a couple of + levels then go back and do the dlc on dream of the samurai, you shouldn't have TOO MUCH trouble if you do things this way

If you had hard time completing the base game I would suggest going a little into NG+ first, but If you finished campaign and feel confident you really can just start the DLCs. I think every DLC has some bosses that will make you miserable the first time around, especially the 2nd one. Even side-missions can be absolute pain. But If thats your 1st playthrough, I would suggest go for the final challenge, It will push you to get better at the game, after that NG+ should feel much more chill. Oh, and definitely play DLCs in the normal order.

Okay thanks, so it's the same deal as in Nioh 1. Got my ass beat in the first DLC, ran through Strong, then returned, was a much smoother sailing.

IMO most DLC bosses are really hardcore. On the other hand, idk if you do yourself a favour by saving them for ng++++.

To me, the difficulty was pretty good, straight from the campaign into DLC. Died a few times to the bosses, but most of them were nice. So definitely no need to do NG+ first at all.

I too suggest going for the DLCs before going for NG+. The loot you get (and the guardians’ spirits) are worthy.
I may be biased, but imo, the hardest part of the 3 DLCs was the final boss of the first. He’s such a hassle to fight and my personal least favourite boss.
