Tips on switchglaive low stance?

Ok, so far on my time in Nioh 2 I have never 'clicked' with the low stance.

Currently my build is switch glaive, poison stuff from Guardian and Ninjutsu and lots of Onmyo.

After 'learning the basics' with Enenra it's been a fairly straightforward.

Recently I noticed the deflection guard in low stance, but attacking with it feels just so weak.

Is it good for status build up? Or is it more NG+ thing? I'm pretty comfortable in dancing between med and high stance, mostly being in med.

Low stance is supposed to be weak. It is low commitment and low risk, so the damage is also low to match. It is for landing quick hits then getting away quickly. This is true for all weapon types, AFAIK.

If I have like Imbue purity +10 on my weapon, is that affected by the damage I deal or is the amount of hits I do the main thing? Cos that might be a thing now that I think about it.

Purity is related to Magic damage and since switchglaives main stat is Magic, Purity should hit a lot harder (Note: Purity mostly damages enemy Ki) . Something i noticed with the switchglaive in my playthrough is that its status build up is fantastic. Whether its the skill where you rotate the SG around yourself or dance between the three stances, SG has one of the easiest times procing multiple status' at once.

Low stance Switchglaive also has one of the weapon's best ki damage abilities against Yokai - the kick chain active skill (quick attack then strong attack). It's also great against humans, if you deplete their ki with the ability it goes into a takedown that does a ton of damage.

there is a skill called Kibosh Kicker in low stance. Put arcana on it with any element. if you manage to deplete human ki to 0 with it, it will apply instant status effect. Whirling Blade deflects projectiles. Lightning Blade skill is trash, don't use it ever. Guard skills in low stance are also pretty good.
