Odachi bros, what's your favored sword ?

I been gunning for a nene slayer for a bit, and before i resign myself to farm Nue (i hate Nue), i wanna know if there's perhaps a preferable option that i may not know about.

If you are using a set that contains an odachi, use the set odachi.
If not, Bloodstained Blade and Ryomen Sukuna's Sword are ok. But the best one I think may be Mirrorblade. The problem is you need to farm a lot to get one with purity or corruption.

I was using Ryomen Sukuna's sword for pretty much every single playthrough until I started going through underworld, then I made the switch to the Futsunomitama and started running a near full set of Grace of Takemikazuchi since I felt like my damage was really lacking.

I love Purity so I use Nene Slayer.

The only thing I don't like about it is the pre-existing Melee Damage Against Yokai, which I'd love to swap with Damage Bonus (Stat) instead. So it's the best one if you're going for Purity, unless you come across one that gets a lucky Purity roll with no pre-existing stats.

Well, my lucky ass just got a purity infused great kanemitsu (i use austerity+ and then some) so i guess my plight is over for now. Thanks for the input tho, much appreciated.

Firefly Blade is also an option. Imbue Purity and comes with Auto Heal on Amrita Absorption, which normally can't be found on weapons.

I personally wouldn't consider Firefly Blade useful, because Life Drain (Active Skill) is a much better and more consistent stat, while also being quite common to get as a star. Massively heals the player and much faster.

Unless you get lucky enough for an odachi to drop with Imbue Purity, you're stuck with either an inferior damage ability (Nene Slayer) or less consistent healing (Firefly).

Ippon Datara Odachi is very good for a corruption build and my personal endgame "BFS".
For a purity based build, Firefly Blade is probably the best option, because you can combine the auto heal with a nupeppo soul core for a semi immortal build (add extraction talisman against bosses, and you can't be killed, or close enough).

Hate to necro but this thread is quite high on search engine results for firefly blade so I feel it's appropriate to set the record straight that Firefly Blade's Auto-life Recovery on Amrita Absorption is not in conflict with Life Drain (Active Skill). You can have both. On the other hand Nene Slayer's Melee Damage vs Yokai does rule out Attack Bonus (STATS).

Imbued Corruption innate effect. I prefer purity over corruption. So that blade is automatically out.
