Is this game worth the money?

I dropped the first Nioh mid playthrough because of how repetitive the enemies and level design were. Is this one any different?

I also dropped Nioh 1 (though I played it after 2) after the 2nd stage while Nioh 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I think the enemy variety and level design all markedly improved compared to 1.

No. It's pretty much the same game as the first but with a couple new mechanics so if the first bored you you won't like the second.

It's better than the first one, but if you didn't finish the first one the improvements aren't enough to keep you playing.

Well that's some contradictory feedback guys. Some say it's the same sh1t and others say it's quite better...

Not really, most people are saying it's better, but it's still very much Nioh. So if you didn't like Nioh, you won't like this. Like the first game, you will be fighting a lot of the same enemy types and doing missions on the same map several times.

I'll put it like this: Nioh and Nioh 2 are as different from each other as Doom and Doom 2 or Megaman X and Megaman X2.
Basically the same game but with new extra mechanics and new maps.

Nioh 2 is still very much Nioh, but it's better in every way. Enemy variety is much better. There are a ton of new yokai types and human enemies feel a bit more varied, too. Level design? Subjective. There are several "siege a japanese castle" kind of missions, but there are a lot of other kinds too.

Nioh 2 has character creation, yokai shift is a more balanced and more varied mechanic than living weapon, there are new really fun weapon types to play with, skill trees are revamped, gear sets and progression is rebalanced, there are new yokai soul core drops which can be attached to guardian spirits to use various yokai attacks... Nioh 2 has a ton of new stuff!

I love both Nioh games though, so it's hard to say how you'd experience the differences.

Apples and Oranges. Team Ninja has its own game legacy with Ninja Gaiden leading to the Nioh games, just as FROM has its legacy with King's Field and the Souls games. It's fine if you don't like Nioh. Some people don't like the world, some don't like the combat mechanics, some don't like the RNG and looting... But calling it utter trash is arrogant and dumb. If you're going to disparage the game to someone, at least say why you don't like it.

Depends on why you were interested in Nioh 1 to begin with. If you were looking for an adventure game, you're still not gonna find it here. If you wanted more expanded action with RPG elements and builds, then Nioh 2 focuses and improves on that.
