PC version is a bad port?
Just wanted to make sure before buying because the setting of the game is actually interesting and reminding me of Dororo.

Does this game work on PC? If so does it have issues of lag, stutter, control issues or repetitive boss patterns?

Thanks in advance.

PS: Maybe the predecessor is better if this game is not?

Supports ultrawide and DLSS. Port is above average for the Japanese.

never had issues with this game, everything works well for me.

I'm running below recommended and yet get 60 fps at 1080p.

I only have

i5 11th gen running at 4.1 ghz
8 GB ddr4 ram @3200 mhz
Laptop 3050 with a measly 4 GB VRAM (less vram equivalent to 1660)

Yeah laptop 3000 series is trash.

Either way, runs great with everything cranked up, even dlss.

This game DLSS has graphical issues on my 3000 card.
Light sources like the sun flicker badly so I don't use it.
The flicker is like a strobe light.

However, the game runs great at 4K even without DLSS on my 3070 TI.
I run 4K/120hz GSYNC HDR and it does dip below 120FPS but with GSYNC, I don't notice it.

PC port is great, they have plenty of options and even have DLSS for us Nvidia kiddies.

Ryzen 9 3900, RTX 2070, maxed settings with "Balanced DLSS and 90+Fps at 1440p
I also do NOT have a shimmering issue like nairB above me does so ymmv...

Now if they could just get it running well on Steam Deck I could be truly happy.

2 hours in - runs extremely well for a "port" :lunar2019piginablanket:

Bought it this week. Runs surprisingly well on my 6 year old pc.

It runs well, very good indeed on my 3080. Make sure you disable resizable BAR in your Bios if you have a 3000 series card as it causes regular hard crashes in this game. I also noticed many other games stutter or run worse with BAR enabled despite it being apparently whitelisted onto certain games.

I run 1440p 120fps, quality DLSS with Gsync and its very nice, smooth and responsive. Makes an embarrassment of Elden Ring honestly, I am so disappointed in that game's technical state.

322 hours and counting.

Works just as good as the first one which had 0 crashes or stutters in 276 hours. And my PC is way below average already these days.

The port is much more competent than a From game imo. It works well and doesn't have any specific issues. And if you have an RTX card than DLSS is a godsend. But most importantly, this is one of the best games ever made so you should play it!

Relative to other Koei Tecmo games and to Nioh 1, Nioh 2 is one of the company's better ports after the patches. And the PC-specific improvements that it could benefit from are subjectively and relatively minor (e.g. being able to assign more hotkeys to items without having to switch the bars, being able to join a co-op game from the EGS or Steam UI, font support for East Asian languages when using non-East Asian languages instead of just squares for names until you switch the language).

PC launch was rough. The March patches started to smooth a few things out. And then Winter 2021 seemed to button up several performance and stability issues vocal players were experiencing. There are still some players that will experience issues, just not as widespread as February and March or for KBM players around the September~October with the yokai ability crash using KBM.
