If this bothers you I really don't know why you are using the dub at all. It's just inferior.
It's only an option for people who can't read subtitles or can't audibly stand Japanese.
What is scary for me is, I haven't played a game with a questionable English dub since Dynasty Warriors 9, but Nioh 2's English dub took the cake.
I played the game through in Japanese first, with pretty much William, Yasuke, and Maria being the only English voices that come to mind. Or at least I think Maria was in English, even though she was the Spanish ninja.
But in the English dub, I think only Mumyo, Hanzo, Koroku, and Suzuka's voices were about the only ones I thought could work / fit / noticeably enjoyed aside from William and Yasuke again. Tokichiro and Nobunaga in particular were very jarring to me, moreso Tokichiro. And some of the unnamed human combatants when they say things like, "Not bad!" in a pretty cheery voice. Although to be fair, I also thought Tokichiro's voice was harder for me to listen to in Japanese in the later regions of the game, but would have to give it a listen again.
I think I grew fond of Toshiie's voice since I more or less got to him say his lines 40+ times farming him for the Spear secret skill.
There has been only one sucesfull dub from Japan to everywhere.. And its dbz.
I reckon english goku sounds better than eeeee carn horn og goku
But those happened ages ago.
Cowboy Bebop is objectively better in English than Japanese
Why would you play a japanese game set in fantasy japan during the warring states period and put it in english?
Next you'll say you watch anime dubbed..
that takes the cake though for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ voice acting for both sub and dub and that's Setcilians voice from Wiseman's Grandson. I cant stand her annoying voice in both sub and dub but sub is a bit more tolerable.
