"English" Dub not a fan at all :(
In terms of having an english dub option is awesome....however my biggest beef is that its literally European English. Not that I'm hating on the English as a whole, I just really hate the fact that they dont sound Japanese in the slightest as far as accents go. Examples: Sekiro (although english dubbed, still sounds like he was japanese.) Ghost of Tsushima : Also dubbed (character still sounds like he's from japan.) Nioh 2??? English dubbed (japanese characters..... sounds like a british man stuck inside a japanese body) Honestly i had to turn it back to the original ♥♥♥ subs after the first 10 minutes of playing simply bc the voice of Hideyoshi annoyeed the hell outta me. Again...I appreciate the effort and the attempt...but the english accent mixed with Japanese Cheritage just threw me off to listen to. Almost like watching Dubbed /Subbed anime. sometimes eng dub is amazing other times It really really sucks and is gratingon the ears. in this particular case this game is the latter. I appreciate the effort but.... no...just no. I cant do it.

LOL I guess so All i'm trying to say is, when I'm staring at a japanes character I kind of expect to hear a slight ENGLISH/ jAPANESE dialect in the way they speak. But European Accent inside a Japanese character just throws me off every time and I cant get used to it at all. Guess we should be thankful that Hide doesn't speak in this game.

If this bothers you I really don't know why you are using the dub at all. It's just inferior.

Dub was just added to broaden the audience and they are some usual cheapo bri'ish actors.
It's only an option for people who can't read subtitles or can't audibly stand Japanese.

What is scary for me is, I haven't played a game with a questionable English dub since Dynasty Warriors 9, but Nioh 2's English dub took the cake.

I played the game through in Japanese first, with pretty much William, Yasuke, and Maria being the only English voices that come to mind. Or at least I think Maria was in English, even though she was the Spanish ninja.

But in the English dub, I think only Mumyo, Hanzo, Koroku, and Suzuka's voices were about the only ones I thought could work / fit / noticeably enjoyed aside from William and Yasuke again. Tokichiro and Nobunaga in particular were very jarring to me, moreso Tokichiro. And some of the unnamed human combatants when they say things like, "Not bad!" in a pretty cheery voice. Although to be fair, I also thought Tokichiro's voice was harder for me to listen to in Japanese in the later regions of the game, but would have to give it a listen again.

I think I grew fond of Toshiie's voice since I more or less got to him say his lines 40+ times farming him for the Spear secret skill.

As much as it sucks, hearing Yoshitsune's twink voice in japanese is far worse. It does have its own gems like Tate Eboshi actually sounding crazy, but it's meh overall.

Resonance of Fate is hilariously good. The Last Story is also one of the finer ones with Japan-> Brit transition, one of the better ones, actually.

But those happened ages ago.

Cowboy Bebop is objectively better in English than Japanese

There's an English dub?
Why would you play a japanese game set in fantasy japan during the warring states period and put it in english?
Just play on the defailt japaness then??
Next you'll say you watch anime dubbed..

yeah just figured that out a short while ago, it's not the best. Mouth flaps are off alot. But still nice to have, I figure on new game+ i will change it up and play all the way through again with the English Dub.

I have already played the game fully through to the end in japanese. I just would like to be able to not have to read subs while trying to watch the cut scenes for a change that and aquiring the voices of the dead bodies is kinda nice to have in English dub bc the subs of the characters tend to overlap with the dead bodys talking and you practiclly have to stop dead in your tracks to listen to each person so one voice doesn't overtake the other. On a side note I watch anime in sub and dub. mostly bc i feel sub is usually better but also bc i have a reading disability and sometimes subs can move to fast for me causing me to constantly pause when ppl are talking bc my brain cant keep up. I was born with Ceribral Pulsey and bc of it i also have reading comprehention issues so its nice to not have to read something every once in a while. Also I'm weird and like to see what lines they change between subbed and dubbed just out of my own morbid curiosity. there is one anime
that takes the cake though for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ voice acting for both sub and dub and that's Setcilians voice from Wiseman's Grandson. I cant stand her annoying voice in both sub and dub but sub is a bit more tolerable.

Sorry to hear that bud. It is a shame that the western VA scene is so bad that people such as yourself are put in such a situation.

I think the dub is actually amazing, it just doesn't fit the setting a single bit. But there's some shockingly good performances and some highly respected english VAs, the best of which being Steven Hartley as Katsuie. That dude's voice is a threat to my sexuality. I'm also like 80% certain that Hanzo is voiced by Troy Baker, but there's no way to tell because for some absolutely dumb reason, the English cast is not credited anywhere, in-game or online. I only know a few of them because their voices are so distinct.
