Can pc and mac crossplay?

My friend has an apple mackbook (pro?) or something? Anyway if he got the game on steam could he crossplay with me, who owns the game through steam on PC?

Can a mac even run this game? That'd be your biggest concern.

Also a mac is also a pc as far as I'm aware so playing with someone who has a mac isn't even crossplay

In your case it not even a crossplay. You both use steam and there is no distinction between mac/win steam, because it single platform. But be aware if his mac will be able to run this game, both because of OS and because of hardware
