magic and dex?
Yes as the title states
30 is 30 capacity which is the most you will get without going over 100 in each stat.
So do I stop at 30 and build into other stats or go as high as 200?
No one is really offering any guidance or advice on how to build a character.
Core stats determine what armour, weapons, active abilities, items and guardian spirits you use.
They are literally the core of the build, it's in the name. And anyway, doesn't have anything to do with what I'm asking. I can build the rest I just don't know about the allocation of the stat points.
You'd usually choose all those first, then build your stat points around it though, stat allocation comes last.
I wouldn't worry about a build if you're still in NG though, just put 30 into magic and dex and the rest into your main weapon skill and experiment to see what you like (you'll most likely have to choose between magic OR ninjitsu in the later difficulties). Gear is what matters the most and you'll be getting new better gear every mission until NG+.

health, Ki, Ki regen, ki pulse ki regen, magic, ninjutsu, stayng at least B agility, are all more valuable then the miniscule dmg increase pushing ones stat early on too high.
Most of what I've seen from people in higher NG cycles recommend against spread stats.
I've already been over that guide, sadly it's from before the DLC so doesn't really help much apart from explaining the mechanics behind each stat which again, while nice to know isn't what I'm asking.
Those sort of min max build are pretty boring to play mostly, as you usually are pretty limited in what you can do with them.
This might be one of best guys I've seen play and he does not care about stats at all.

But he plays the game as ninja gaiden, and actually on purpose reduces his dmg.
But man he's a skill beast.
You get 5 more points from a node on the grid, and the remaining 5 points for a total of 40 is from levels 100-200.
You get serious diminishing returns going beyond 30 or so in most stats. So a somewhat balanced build is going to work well in general.
You can make omyou work with only 30 points for quite a long time. If you use switchglaives or split staffs put in a bit more or focus more on the stats which you are suffering in. Courage will NEVER hurt you due to it being the ki regen primary stat. Similarly skill is a ranged weapon and ki pulse primary stat.
30 can get you up to 35 capacity. you only get 1 capacity for every 20 over 100. You get 5 of the 40 total from a node.
I'd go and I did 30 dex / 30 magic for 30 + 5 (from skills) capacity on both.
Wouldn't go higher, unless you want to use a magic/ninja build or you use weapon that primarily scales with one of them.
30/30 means I have can use lot of talismans (extraction, divination, protectio, mainly) and I use ninjutsu for poison stuff (most bosses are pretty weak to it) and some other cheap tricks, for specific situations ( I farmed William for texts with paralyzis ground thing, made him even more trivial, and daidaras hands break with bombs for example)
Max capacity is 40 at stat lvl 200.
Not sure how or if dmg scales much.
But I think buffs (talismans, pills) last longer a bit with higher stats, but not sure how well it scales.
