NVIDIA vs AMD performance.
Ok so I'm lucky enough to have 2 gaming pc's at home with the same cpu but one with an nvidia gpu and the other an amd card.

Both computers were running the game at 1080p with everything maxed out except for motion blur and fps capped at 120 in-game.

I created a new character and stood just before the weapons on the ground.

1st Pc is running a ryzen 5 3600(stock) - 16GB 3200Mhz - Nvidia 1080ti - Samsung 860 SSD

2nd pc is running a ryzen 5 3600 (stock) - 16GB 3600Mhz - Amd Rx 5600 Xt - Seagate HDD

On the 1st pc I'm getting 65fps and on the 2nd one I'm getting 105fps.

The 1080ti is a lot better than the 5600, its also my main pc where I play the most demanding games I have. (It ran Cyberpunk way better than nioh 2).

Both pc's have the most recent version win10 and drivers for each gpus.

Let's just hope that a patch addresses this issue.

EDIT: After a bit more of testing I found out something interesting, the 120 fps cap in-game is interfering with the fps.

When playing at 3440x1440 (with 120fps cap) standing with my new character in front of the weapons I was getting 45fps but if I cap the fps at 60 I get a constant 60fps at the exact same spot.

I would definitely submit a support ticket to KT and let them know about this. I already submitted one myself about my insane drops with particle effects, but your findings are even better and point to a problem with Nvidia GPUs in particular.

Pardon my ignorance but how and where do I submit a support ticket to them?

they know. they're just not going to do anythign about it. I mean the game has been out for over two weeks due to the early preview builds. And they did not patch the game for the release date. They clearly dgaf. Maybe Nvidia will release a driver to bring the performance upto AMD.

The 1st game's port wasn't great as well if I remember correctly but I though maybe they'd work a bit harder on this one... guess I was wrong.

the weapon choice area for some reason is the worst spot in the game, i was going really low in FPS but during normal gameplay missions i am always capped out FPS.

Wow, this worked for me too. Thank you for validating this and sharing! When I reduced cap from 120 to 60, I got a buttery smooth 60 fps with no dips

No problem dude, glad I could help someone else.

I just hope they release a couple of patches :)

I have a RTX 3090 and also experienced large frame drops/slowdowns when running the game at 120 FPS. Particularly on the first mission when fighting the first Yokai, the Yokai does a ground stab that flicks some rocks and causes the slowdown. Lowering the FPS cap down to 60 FPS has resolved the issue.

for some reason my 2070 super drops alot of fps in cutscene .. anyone got same issue?
