Guide - Revert 1.27 to 1.26

I only play offline, so I'm not sure if this affects online play. If you aren't comfortable running you Steam login credentials through third party software then there's nothing you can do.

To save you time in the first guide these are the manifests you want to download, formatted for DepotDownloader.

dotnet DepotDownloader.dll -app 1325200 -depot 1325202 -manifest 4827027219057015633 -username <USERNAME> -password <PASSWORD>

dotnet DepotDownloader.dll -app 1325200 -depot 1325201 -manifest 1869186892263077373 -username <USERNAME> -password <PASSWORD>

You have to relog after each download. The second will take a long time and probably time out more than once, but just leave it alone and it will work. Check the Network column in task manager if you want to make sure its still downloading.

You only have to follow the first section of the second guide.

Thank you for posting this, I've just started rolling back. Man is the last one slow, but at least it's working. Unlike this horrible patch.

For super safety I recommend backing up the 1.26 version just in case Steam tries to update over it.

Its pathetic the devs have taken this long to acknowledge the problem. Now we have to wait even longer for a real fix.

The second manifest does not download. It states not accessible to this account. Has it been locked?

This for the people that ctd after the latest update. A LOT of people are affected by the problem. If you don't have disappearing text or constant crashing, this doesn't apply to you.

Actually not sure it matters, just included it for completeness. The first two both apparently are for the Nioh2.exe file. If you've got the data files and an exe try that.

Also, I just tried it myself and it worked fine. You sure you logged in with the account that owns Nioh2 and not an alt account or something?

The third is still in progress for me, will update whether the rollback to 1.26 is successful or not.

Edit - Can confirm, rolling back to 1.26 is still possible and working properly following the steps in these guides, despite the 2nd manifest line in the OP giving the account error.

This is the best approach for me presently. 1.26 is better than 1.27 for my setup.
I concur, only need to download the first and third manifests. Maybe update the OP?

Glad it worked! It's no substitute for a proper patch, but it should allow us to keep having fun.

Updated. Was waiting for someone else to confirm it works without the second one before I acted. Hope everyone can have fun in Nioh 2 again :)

Make sure you only do this when Steam is in offline mode. You could be banned in the game if you're online.
